Meraki @ Hotel Wielemans

Meraki is proud of this new collaboration with the developer Patrizia and the renowned Carmen Azevedo, Architect of the “Commission Royale des Monuments et Sites” to renovate the Hotel Wielemans, rue Defacqz in Brussels.

The story of the masterpiece, listed since 1994, including its beautiful garden, starts with Yvonne et Leon Wielemans, who asked Adrien Blomme, well-known architect in the early XXth century, to conceive their “hotel particulier” in Brussels in 1926. After they had fallen in love with Andalusia, the style of the building could only be Art deco and Andalusian. Adrien Blomme and his clients spent time in Andalusia to study for this unique alliance.

Meraki oversees the restoration, respecting all original specifications such as the glass works, the original Azulejo tiles which were brought directly from Andalusia at the time.
